Recent Watercolour

It has been too long since I added recent work to my notes, unfortunate health issues getting in the way.

I painted this watercolour at the end of April while staying in a caravan at my sister-in-law’s farm. I did some tidying up and finishing the grass in the foreground back in the studio. I found the foreground the most difficult as the grasses were almost in silhouette, creating a soft almost fuzziness to the texture. By using a drybrush technique and a trace of acrylic white reduced by lemon yellow watercolour seemed to work.

It needs a frame and it is a likely candidate to submit to the RSW Annual Exhibition early next year.
